JUST A WHOLE BUNCH OF NOTHING

Today my niece was in her very first talent show.

She did SOOOO awesome!! I'm so stinkin' proud of her.

I don't have any pictures of this event yet because A) I didn't take any because I was recording her with my camera which leads to B) I need to learn how to take still shots from a video.

Any how, I was going through my camera and realized I haven't taken any pictures off of it for the month of May so I thought I would just do a little picture blog and show you what's been up the past month.  Not a whole lot but I'll let you see anyways :)

We had a party for Zach's best friend Denver.

Just some party people.

My niece Brynn.

The birthday boy!

My nephew.
My 11 year old niece couldn't make the party because she double booked herself for the evening.
She chose the other party.

Me and Phoebe on Mother's Day.

I can't help it!
I love her so!!

And Phoebe just being a little baby on the couch with her paws all drawn up to her face.

That's it for today.  I have a big weekend coming up that involves an out of town concert event.  I know Gary Allan is one of the shows but I can't remember who else is involved. I'm pretty much going to hang with my friends and my honeybee Zach Rowell enjoys it so I know he will have a good time.

(I just want to make it known that Zach and I called each other Honeybee way before the Blake Shelton song.  Okay? Okay.)

Everyone be safe this weekend and remember to wear your sunscreen!

TheBeautyDepartment.com

I've come across a new favorite website that I must share with you all.  First of all, let me say what a fan I am of Lauren Conrad.  Cause I am.  I know people think she is just this over paid reality television star that parties and has loads of drama and all of this may be true, BUT I find her very interesting and in some odd way she kind of keeps me motivated to pursue some dreams of mine.

Let's face it, you know she is just completely gorgeous! I have watched all the seasons of The Hills so many times and I never get tired of it.  Partly because I think everyone has great style (I NEVER have style it seems) and partly because I think she's very mature for her age.  I never had the drive she had at 19 and 20.  Boy, I wish I did.  Her strive to be someone makes me want to strive to be more than I am.  She is inspiring!

I learned about this website in Self magazine.  I like it because it's not overboard.  The layout it simple and the posts are to the point.  I immediately Followed them on Twitter and Liked them on Facebook.  They may have tweeted me back the other day when I tweeted a little something to them.  It kind of made my day :)

Any how, please go check it out.  I don't think you will be disappointed and you may just pick up a little slice of style you haven't had before.

Lauren, Kristin and Amy-

If by chance you stumble across this lil 'ol blog, please know you have a fan in me and I'm spreading the word about ya!

Keeping It Real Cinderella Style

I'm not sure of the origination of this picture or what the point behind it is.

Whoever did this may have just been having fun and wanted to put a little something cute together.

However, I feel the need to set the record straight  for those of you who believe that this is some crazy coincidence.

At first glance I thought, "How cool! That's neat."

But after further investigation I found the truth.

I knew the pictures were familiar yet something wasn't right about it.

Here are the results.....

The real picture.

The fake pictures.

The other real picture.

I just needed you to be aware in case you thought this was the coincidence of the year.

Cool idea though.  I still like it.

Summer Lovin'.....er, kind of.....

Okay, the title may be a little misleading.  I don't love the summer time.  In fact, it's my least favorite season.  BUT, if it's coming I might as well make the best of it and find things to like about it.

In no particular order, these are things that bring me joy throughout these miserable hot months.

Gardens begin to bloom and I get to make mine pretty again after the harsh winter.
Wish my backyard looked like this!

Although I'm not that into fireworks because they are a waste of money, they sure are pretty to look at.
I know I will change my tune when we have kids because it will be more about them
enjoying it.

I like a refreshing dip in the pool from time to time.
This pool is WAY cool!

I appreciate long flowing dresses for us girls who are a little body conscious and have fair skin.
I need to stock up on these.

Of course I look forward to a good ol' BBQ.  When in actuality I don't know that BBQ is every actual involved.  Technically, I guess we are just having a cook out. :-P

Time to show the toes so you gotta have a few pairs of these on hand.

If I gotta look forward to something about this season then these are the things I choose :)

 A Moment With Veruca Salt

"Gooses! Geeses! I want my geese to lay golden eggs for Easter.....Don't care how, I want it now!"

I'm a simple girl.  I don't ask for much.  I'm content with some notebooks of paper and a couple of pens.  But every now and then my inner Veruca comes out and even though I know I'm not going to get what I want, I still need to whine about it and throw a good ol' kid fit when I don't get it.

Today, and for awhile now, I've wanted the Princess Diana/Kate Middleton engagement ring.  Obviously, I can't have one as stunning as hers but I'm not above settling for the cheapest look-a-like.

She's becoming one of my favorite people to internet stalk.
I really like her style.

Here are some options I've found and yes, oh yes, I'm getting one.

This one is sold at Helzberg.
I've been to the store to try it on but it was in layaway.

I found this one on QVC.

I found this one on HSN.

I'm slowing going to morph into Kate Middleton, or should I say the Duchess of Cambridge.
:)

I'm soooo DIY

My bedroom lampshades have been wrong for some time now.  I've looked at them for the past couple of years and have been slightly embarassed knowing that they didnt match my comforter.

Problem solved this weekend and I couldn't be happier! I even made a couple of Zach's friends check them out in my excitement.  They approved ;)

I used pillow cases that I got for $3.99 at Ross (love Ross!) and used hemming tape to attach it.  I think I may add some extra trim just to spice it up a little.

And a close up of these little guys.
These are our childhood stuffed animals and the bear that I bought in NYC at Macy's.

Front row - No name football dog (Phoebe's first toy)
