UNPRETTY

Okay, well this post is strictly being written to make me feel good about myself on this Thursday night while I'm watching the MTV VMA's.  Everyone is looking incredibly pretty and all done up and it's making me feel really REALLY ugly while I sit here with no make-up and grandma pj's on. (When you are breast feeding and not wanting things to rub your caesarean scar there are not a lot of cute clothing options.)

One of the things I'm looking forward to when returning back to work is that I get to wear make-up again and this makes me SO EXCITED. (I know I could wear it now but I'm not wasting it.)  You don't understand, it's a big deal to take a trip anywhere out of this house just so I can pretty myself up a little.  I put gas in my car for the first time in 2 months this past weekend.  I NEVER go anywhere.  First, it's too dang hot outside.  Second, I don't feel like hauling a baby around in temperatures over 100 degrees.  Not happening.

So while loading pictures onto my computer today (over 400 of just Evelyn in the month of August) I started looking at old pictures and ran across these.  I took them this past February for my cd I recorded.  I finished it up right before I had Evelyn and just shared it with some people at work.  This one did not make iTunes like my last one.

Again, I am strictly showing these to make myself feel pretty :) Don't judge me.

Do you know how to tell your husband honestly loves you for your heart?

You don't wear make-up for 2 months and he still tells you you are pretty :)

Get ready for the weekend!

  1. April, those are AMAZING!!! :) I'm in a bit (ok, a huge) slump these days. I don't know if I ever put on a full face of make-up anymore, and today I was just sulking about how old, tired, and wrinkly I was starting to look. Maybe we can do a girls pamper day or something before you go back to work?! Date?!

  2. Those pictures are amazing, but I am sure you are gorgeous with or without makeup. But I know exactly how you feel, sometimes you just have to feel "hot" again. I would never tell my husband this but I am often flattered when I get checked out or hit on when I am out with my girlfriends, sometimes as an old married lady I forget that I still got it goin on! And so do you girl!! Your hubs loves you for who you are..his wife and the beautiful mother of his beautiful daughter!!!!! :)

  3. Dear Mz. April,
It is my opinion....You are beautiful with and especially without make-up. Without make-up one can see your true heart, character, and yes beauty from within---especially---your eyes. - You have a glow about you (yes long before the baby) that not many people have. And it comes from your heart, your soul, and your mind. People, strangers, family, everyone who takes one look---one little glance in your eyes....knows you are a beauty(rare I might add) that cannot be painted on, but comes from within. Personally? with or without,-- granny or teddy, you are one of the most beautiful women I have ever know.. Beauty is not seen within they eyes....Eyes do not lie.! .For my money? ppl who don't see this? aren't worth the 2cents i toss into the fountain. or drop on the ground. So next time you don't feel pretty? Look in the mirror, Look at your eyes. there is no beauty---greater than this. Love you, Rallie
